Static Potential in N = 4 Supersymmetric Yang - Mills Theory
We compute the leading order perturbative correction to the static potential in N = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. We show that the perturbative expansion contains infrared logarithms which, when resummed, become logarithms of the coupling constant. The resulting correction goes in the right direction to match the strong coupling behavior obtained from the AdS/CFT correspondence. We find t...
متن کاملLoop Equation in Two-dimensional Noncommutative Yang-Mills Theory
The classical analysis of Kazakov and Kostov of the Makeenko-Migdal loop equation in two-dimensional gauge theory leads to usual partial differential equations with respect to the areas of windows formed by the loop. We extend this treatment to the case of U(N) Yang-Mills defined on the noncommutative plane. We deal with all the subtleties which arise in their two-dimensional geometric procedur...

We compute the soft contribution to the static energy of two heavy colour sources interacting via a N = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. Both singlet and octet colour configurations are considered. Our calculations complete recent considerations of the ultrasoft contributions. PACS numbers: 11.30.Pb, 12.38.Bx, 12.39.Hg, 12.60.Jv
متن کاملQuenched Two Dimensional Supersymmetric Yang-Mills Theory
By studying the pure Yang-Mills theory on a circle, as well as an adjoint scalar coupled to the gauge field on a circle, we propose a quenching prescription in which the combination of the spatial component of the gauge field and P is treated as a dynamic variable. Averaging over momentum is not necessary, therefore the usual ultraviolet cut-off is eliminated. We then apply this prescription to...
متن کاملStatic Axially Symmetric Solutions of Einstein-yang-mills-dilaton Theory
We construct static axially symmetric solutions of SU(2) Einstein-Yang-Millsdilaton theory. Like their spherically symmetric counterparts, these solutions are nonsingular and asymptotically flat. The solutions are characterized by the winding number n and the node number k of the gauge field functions. For fixed n with increasing k the solutions tend to “extremal” Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton black...
